Hybrid files are OS packages that incorporate files from different releases of the OS. Hybrid operating systems often add functionality, or increase battery life and/or network strength.
As an example, a hybrid file could have the 10.2.0.483 OS, the 10.2.0.340 radio and applications from 10.2.0.663.
